Insects of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
Where would we be without insects? I would think that on many occasions as you were driving about your ecosystem you have noticed the bee hives located in crop fields. Imagine for a moment what our world would be without flowers, vegetables, and fruits all these are provided by the hard work of our bees. Insects can be found in every environment every ecosystem and in every part of our world.
Here in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem our insects are hard at work performing a great number of important tasks. They aerate the soil, pollinate blossoms, and control insect and plant pests; they also decompose dead materials, thereby reintroducing nutrients into the soil.
